Health & Safety

  • A full risk assessment will be carried out before any activity at a new venue.

  • Smart Raspberry holds a current emergency aid certificate issued by an appropriate body.

  • By agreeing to these Terms, you provide consent for staff to administer any necessary first aid to your child.

  • For safety reasons, all attendees must tie long hair back and wear an apron.

  • It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure children wear appropriate clothing.

Liability

  • We make every effort to ensure cooking workshops are safe and enjoyable. However, cooking is a hands-on activity and may involve potentially dangerous kitchen utensils and equipment, including knives, graters, peelers, hobs, ovens, and food processors.

  • Supervised Use of Kitchen Equipment: Participants may use age-appropriate kitchen tools under close supervision. All equipment is introduced safely, and children are taught correct handling techniques. Tasks are adapted according to age and ability. By booking a Smart Raspberry activity, parents/carers acknowledge that practical cookery carries an inherent risk of minor injury, despite all reasonable safety precautions.

  • Do not bring items of special value; Smart Raspberry accepts no responsibility for personal possessions.

  • We are not liable for indirect, special, or consequential loss, or losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control.

  • Smart Raspberry Cookery School holds Public Liability insurance through Simply Business.

Film & Photography

  • We may take photographs or film during courses for promotion via literature, website, social media, press, and TV.

  • Personal data will be held in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Promotions & Discounts

  • Promotional codes must be redeemed according to the promotion terms and these Terms and Conditions.

  • Sibling Discount: When booking more than one child with the same surname on the same form, a sibling discount may apply. The discount applies to the additional child(ren), not the first child.

Programme Changes

  • We may change the timing, content, or teacher of any course at any time.

  • If a class is cancelled, a credit note for the full booking fee or an alternative session will be offered. If you cannot attend the alternative session, a full-value credit note will be issued.

Collection

  • Children must be collected by a parent or guardian unless written consent for an alternative arrangement is provided.

  • Children normally allowed to walk home alone may only do so with prior written consent.

  • A 15-minute grace period applies for late collection. After this, a £10 fee applies per 15 minutes. Persistent lateness may result in termination of the course.
